A distance measurement becomes admission points only through the school's published criteria. SaplingSky keeps those two questions separate: the distance calculator helps measure a route, while the selected school's verified matrix determines whether that distance earns points and under which band.
What changes for 2027-28?
The calculator currently uses verified 2026-27 historical school criteria where available because most schools have not yet published their 2027-28 points notices. When a school's 2027-28 criteria are published and verified, that current-cycle evidence should supersede the historical matrix for current planning. The old record can still be useful for comparison, but it should remain clearly dated.

Distance is handled according to the selected school’s verified criteria. Where the published rule uses distance bands, SaplingSky applies the relevant verified logic instead of assuming one citywide kilometre band.
