Who operates the service

SaplingSky is currently operated by Mohit Sippy as a school-admissions decision-support service. SaplingSky is a brand/service name and is not represented as an incorporated company or LLP. The operating structure may be transferred to a formal entity in future, with this policy updated accordingly. SaplingSky is not a school, the Delhi Directorate of Education, or an admissions authority.

Information we use

Depending on the features you use, we may process your verified mobile number, parent or guardian profile, child name and date of birth, target admission year and class, home address and derived location, distance preference, family/admission criteria answers, saved or tracked schools, application status, document-readiness choices, communication preferences and consent records. We also keep limited security, authentication and product-usage records needed to operate, protect and improve the service.

Why we use it

We use this information to authenticate your account, calculate relevant school matches and road distance, apply published admission criteria, maintain your admission plan and action centre, show verified updates, respect communication preferences, protect the service from misuse, respond to support requests and understand whether core product journeys are working.

Product analytics are first-party and record an authenticated parent identifier, allow-listed event name and page path. The navigation tracker does not send query strings, profile fields or child details.

Sources and service providers

School and admission information may come from official school websites, Delhi DoE material and other sources identified on SaplingSky. We use infrastructure and communications providers to run the service, including hosting, database, authentication, mapping and SMS services. Those providers may process information only as needed to provide the relevant service to SaplingSky. Links to school or government websites take you to third-party services governed by their own privacy terms.

Children's information and parental authority

SaplingSky is intended for parents or lawful guardians planning a child's school admission, not for children to create or operate accounts independently. By providing a child's personal information, you confirm that you are the child's parent or lawful guardian, or otherwise have lawful authority to provide and use that information for the admission-planning purpose described to you. Where applicable law requires verifiable parental or guardian consent for processing a child's personal data, SaplingSky will apply the required consent mechanism before carrying out that processing.

We do not use the service to conduct behavioural monitoring of children or targeted advertising directed at children. Please do not provide child information that is unnecessary for the admissions-planning features you are using.

Security, minimisation and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the service, including authenticated access controls and restricted handling of parent and child data. We seek to collect and use personal information only where reasonably necessary for the stated service purpose. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and records, resolve disputes, or meet applicable legal and operational requirements, after which it may be deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

Your choices and requests

You can update core profile and admissions-planning information through the product where controls are available. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to raise a concern about how it is used, subject to applicable law and legitimate record-keeping or security requirements. Communication consent can be withdrawn through the controls provided for that purpose. Where consent is the basis for a particular processing activity, withdrawing consent applies prospectively and may mean that the relevant feature can no longer be provided.

Data incidents

If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law, including notifications to affected individuals or competent authorities where legally required. Users should contact us promptly if they believe their SaplingSky account or personal information has been compromised.

Admission information

School and admission information displayed by SaplingSky may be compiled from official school websites, school notices, government or authority material and other identified sources. Verification labels describe our evidence status; they do not make SaplingSky the issuing authority. Source information can change after publication. Historical admission information, calculated points, recommendations, predictions and other decision-support outputs are not guarantees of a future admission outcome. Parents should confirm time-sensitive requirements with the latest official school or authority source.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, providers, legal requirements or operating structure change. The current version and its update date will be published on this page. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain fresh consent for a material change in how personal data is processed.
