What 1,676 verified Delhi school admission criteria tell parents
Delhi nursery admission is not governed by one generic school-points table. SaplingSky’s structured historical dataset shows how strongly individual schools differ — while also showing which criteria recur most often across the city.

Distance is almost universal — but the bands are not
Distance appears in 1,615 of the 1,676 schools with verified historical criteria in the dataset. That is why a parent’s address can materially change the shortlist. But the useful question is not simply whether distance matters: each school can use different distance bands and different point values, so a single city-wide distance rule can mislead.
Sibling and alumni advantages are common, but not universal
Sibling criteria appear at 90.3% of schools in this historical snapshot, while parent-alumni criteria appear at 58.7%. Parents should therefore enter family circumstances school by school rather than assume the same bonus applies everywhere.
Girl-child criteria are more widespread than many parents expect
Girl-child criteria appear at 1,089 schools — 65.0% of schools with verified historical criteria in this snapshot. The specific definition and points still vary by school, and the new 2027-28 criteria must be checked once officially published.
Methodology and limits
This snapshot counts active criteria marked verified in SaplingSky’s structured 2026-27 dataset. It contains 8,404 verified criterion rows across 1,676 schools. Criteria are classified into normalized categories such as Distance, Sibling, Girl Child and Parent Alumni while preserving the school-specific source evidence. Percentages use 1,676 as the denominator. This is historical analysis, not a forecast of 2027-28 rules or selection outcomes.
The underlying official admission-criteria disclosures are available through the Delhi Directorate of Education. SaplingSky does not treat a previous-cycle criterion as current until the new-cycle source is verified.
