Delhi nursery admission documents 2027-28: what parents can prepare now
Preparing document categories early can save time once applications open. But there is an important distinction: this is a preparation checklist, not a claim that every school has already published its final 2027-28 document list.
The school's current notice is the final checklist
Document names, accepted address proofs, attestation rules, upload formats and evidence for point criteria can differ by school and cycle. SaplingSky will treat a requirement as 2027-28 only after it is verified from the relevant official source.
Prepare these evidence categories
Child age / identity evidence
Keep the child’s official birth/age evidence and any identity document the relevant school or authority accepts. The final 2027-28 notice controls the acceptable document types and format.
Residence / address evidence
Because many schools historically use neighbourhood distance, prepare current residence evidence in the parent or child’s name where applicable. Do not assume every school accepts the same address-proof list.
Parent identity and photographs
Keep clear digital copies of parent identification and recent photographs ready if requested. Exact file size, format and attestation requirements can vary by school.
Sibling evidence
If claiming sibling points, be ready to prove the existing student-school relationship in the manner required by that school. A sibling criterion may exist historically but still change for 2027-28.
Alumni evidence
If claiming alumni points, locate the relevant parent’s school records or other evidence described by the school. Some schools distinguish mother/father alumni or define minimum years/classes.
Other criterion-specific evidence
Girl-child, staff-ward, first-born, minority or other school-specific claims may need supporting evidence. Only claim a criterion when the current notice applies to your child and your documents meet its rule.
A practical digital folder structure
Create one folder for the child and a subfolder for each shortlisted school. Keep a clean scan or photo of each likely document, plus the current official school notice once released. Name files clearly — for example, by evidence category rather than “scan1.jpg” — so repeated applications are faster and errors are easier to spot.
Do not upload sensitive documents to unofficial forms merely because a third-party page asks for them. Use the school's verified application channel or a service you have deliberately chosen and reviewed.
Match evidence to the points you plan to claim
A shortlist is stronger when you know not just the theoretical points, but whether you can actually support them. If your expected score depends on sibling or alumni points, check that school's historical rule now and then re-check the 2027-28 rule before submitting. The same principle applies to neighbourhood/address claims.
Understand the points systemCheck age eligibility before preparing an application
Delhi's foundational-stage age framework is changing in phases. Before spending time on a school application, confirm the child's age eligibility for the entry level. SaplingSky's 2027-28 age-criteria guide is based on the Delhi Directorate of Education circular and separates Nursery, Lower KG and Upper KG.
Build the shortlist before forms open
Search by school or Delhi locality, then prepare documents only for schools you would genuinely consider.
